SECURITY ALERTS
  • Media Hawaii FCU will never call or e-mail you requesting personal information, passwords or PINs. If you should receive any request, do not reply and notify the credit union immediately.

  • Credit unions and banks across the country are receiving counterfeit checks that are being used in various lottery scams. If you receive a check, letter, e-mail or a telephone call from a lottery that you did not enter, do not reply and report it to the appropriate authorities.

  • Another scam that is going around is asking victims to cash or deposit a check for the perpetrator, then wiring a portion of the proceeds back to them while the victims keeps the difference for their assistance. The check would be returned unpaid and the perpetrator is long gone with your funds you wired.
There are all kinds of scams and fraudulent activities going on, so please be careful who you deal with.
